Stop wasting your money on PMD policies

I had a flat battery on 25/02/2016, I called PMD Roadside Assist at 18:21, I spoke to a gentleman who told me that my policy had expired (so I asked how that could be since the premiums were being debited against my account) and advised that they could send someone out to assist but I would have to pay the person in cash and call the next day to arrange a refund. I asked I could be refunded on a contract that had expired -- he couldn't give me an adequate answer, so I hung up. At 18:34 (now extremely desperate for assistance) I decided to call again, this time I spoke to a different agent who told me a different story (my policy wasn't expired but I apparently my roadside assist policy only covered me for towing benefit) she also advised that they could send someone to assist but I would have to pay cash for that and call the next day to try claim a refund. I didn't even have my wallet with cash on me at the time and even if I did, why am I paying premiums for roadside assist? (precisely because I don't want to incur these sorts of expenses in an emergency!). So I had to remain stranded for hours waiting for a friend to come and jump start my battery.

Hello Hellopulane,

This is most unfortunate and unusual indeed as our service provider strives to be accountable when our client's in need or urgent assistance.

Your valuable feedback has enabled us to ensure that a similar occurrence does not happen in future.

Nonetheless, we are glad to learn that you received assistance in the end.

Kind regards,

The PMD Team
