Refusing Courtesy car and accident claim
Prime/PMD – Courtesy Car and Accident Claim
I was involved in a rear-end accident and reported the matter to PMD. My vehicle sustained damage, and although PMD considers the vehicle “drivable,” it has a bad sound coming from the vehicle and the boot does not close properly after the accident.
I was also booked off by my doctor until Tuesday following the accident. I need my vehicle for work, but PMD is refusing to provide a courtesy car because they consider my vehicle drivable.
I am concerned that a vehicle with a boot that cannot close properly and an abnormal sound after an accident should not simply be considered suitable for normal use without a proper assessment.
I am requesting that PMD urgently reassess the vehicle and clarify why I am being denied a courtesy car under these circumstances. I would appreciate urgent assistance, as I need reliable and safe transport to return to work.
Please assist with resolving this matter and advise me on the next steps.

The vehicle was taken for assessment last week, but I have been informed that it has still not been booked in for repairs. I am becoming increasingly concerned about the delay, as I have a limited timeframe to have the repairs completed.
I am required to return the rental vehicle at the end of September, and I need sufficient time for my vehicle to be repaired and ready before then. The current delay is therefore putting me in a very difficult position.
Please could you urgently confirm the current status of the repair booking and advise when the vehicle will be booked in for repairs. I would appreciate this being prioritised, as time is running out.
I look forward to your urgent response.
