Refuse to pay off or repair my car
I joined prime meridian direct on the 6 of may 2013 and was covered for Prime total loss protection plan C-100% and also Motor assist. The total amount which i was paying was R 536.52 and since i joined i never skipped my premium, on the 14 of December 2013 i laid a claim because the bumper of my car had scratch from the parking and i was told to take it to the nearest panel beater and my car stayed there for five days waiting for them to pay because they already told me that they will pay R800 and i should add the rest but until now they haven't paid that amount but because i didn't know i continued with them until again was involved on the car accident on the 14 of October 2014 and again i laid a claim and they said i should allow the tow people to take my car to their storage and i waited until the 26 of December where i was told that my claim has declined because of negligence and had to go collect my car from Booysens in Johannesburg and the total amount i payed was R2270 for storage and to hire a towing vehicle.I am so disappointed with them because this has happened to two of my friends this year that they were in an accident but they never get what they are promising to us
We appreciate the time you took to raise your concerns with us.
Our records confirmed your claim of May 2013 has been approved and authorised for payment. Our investigation revealed that your chosen panel beater never submitted an invoice to us for payment, nevertheless our Client Representation Department has established the missing payment will be made to the service provider soon.
We pride ourselves in the prompt manner in which we settle all our valid claims. Nonetheless whilst we are deeply sympathetic towards your personal challenging circumstances, you will agree that the rejection of your claim in October 2014 was wholly justified, particularly as it is evident you disregarded a red traffic light resulting in multiple third party collisions.
A comprehensive explanation of the reasons for repudiation is being drafted by our Legal Department which you will receive shortly.
Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.
Kind regards,
The PMD Team
