Prime SA/Santam Review
I had an accident on 6 August 2025 where I hit a huge pothole suffering two blown out tyres. Since the accident appeared at about 11 at night, it was impossible to inspect for further damage. A tow truck driver working in the area came around and warned that it was a dangerous area and offered to tow the car to the nearest police station free of charge. I told him no, I have to phone my insurance to consult about the tow away. I phoned Prime SA at 23:25 and spoke to a lady that told me that the incident must be recorded as an accident. She went into my profile and later authorized the tow away. She also spoke to the towing driver and gave him instructions. I then asked to speak to her again and asked whether the tow truck could tow my car to my place of residence. She rep**** no, and said I would then be held liable to pay for the towing. I said I had no money and that I would rather then allow them to tow the car to Prime's holding facility at Auction Nation in Montague Gardens. A few days after, I was informed that my claim was rejected and I had to pay R4752.65 to get my car back for the towing services. A long story short. This is a **** Insurance Company that is only interested in your monthly premiums and their Primary objective is to get claims rejected. They were not even interested in consulting the recording of the conversation between myself and the consultant the night of the incident. In fact, I am doubtful whether there is in fact a recording, because they are suddenly quite after I asked for all the recordings between myself and all consultants I spoke to since I signed up with them. I will again gladly share the outcome of that request if ever it will be followed up by Prime. People, be very careful about this Insurance Company and their underwriters Santam.
