Prime Meridian Direct Worst insurance ******** around if you do not believe other reviews believe this one.

I was in two accidents one on the 27th (Hit dog sad but he lived) and the other on the 28th of October (Hit from behind by an unlicensed driver). On the 27th a dog ran into my bumper in a frenzy trying to avoid being hit by another vehicle. The dog is ok by the way. PMD advised that they can only pay for one because its the 1st year of cover. I disputed this as I was told two claims a year is what is allowed. I then agreed because of their fine print that I will except one payout. Everyday they advised that they are still investigating until finally 30 odd days later they come back to me and reject the claim saying that the damage was minor. This coming from the same people who quoted +-R10 000 to have the car repaired. How is that minor if its a 3rd of what the car is worth as it is a 1999 model vehicle. I pay them R500 a month for 6months thats R3000 and they do not want to return the premiums. They basically stole the money as they refuse to pay for the damages. They are using every trick in the book to avoid paying and are *****ing from people all around the country. The customer service is excellent when they are selling you the product but at claims stage they are out to reject claims and keep your money. They are now investigating the 2nd claim because this is how they waste your time and execpt you to get so annoyed that you forget about it which I wont do. When the sales person sold me the policy they did not state that they would not pay for R10000 worth of damage as it is minor. Please guys do not ever use this company for business no matter how great they make it seem. I will be publishing reviews on this company daily so that no other person gets taken for a ride. If they have the guts to provide valid evidance as to why they rejected the claim they should please bring it forward. Also if they dont want to pay why not return the premiums just proves what ******** they are. PMD I wish you the worst in your future years of ******** and challenge you to make sense of what you did with this claim.

Hello laveshn,

We are sorry to learn of your unfortunate accidents which happened so soon after one another and thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your enquiry.

Our claims department has gladly informed us that your second claim, wherein your vehicle sustained its greatest damages, has been approved in line with your policy Terms and Conditions. Whilst your first claim could unfortunately not be entertained as the damages were found to be of a cosmetic nature, we cannot validate claims which do not qualify for cover.

A member of our Client Representation Department will provide you with a more detailed explanation regarding the outcome of both your claims.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours on our behalf.

Kind regards,

The PMD Team

Hi

Happy to hear that the 2nd claim will be paid. On the note of cosmetic damaged not being covered is that not why people take insurance for cosmetic damages?

My other concern is that the vehicle must be repaired 1st and then only do you pay out the claim. I hope and pray that payment does not take long seeing that the vehicle would be in the repairers possession until such time. Usually the payment is made and then only does the work commence.
