Prime Meridian Direct Failing to pay me as Third Party

My name is Tsvakaiwadi. My car was bumped by a client for PMD while it was parked at a parking lot this was on the 13th of October 2022. A claim was submitted and l was third party in the claim. They requested for quotations for Panel Beaters l did send them. Door was damaged and drivers window was smashed. The cheapest quotation was R16,079.24, the assessor for PMD then adjusted the quotation to R14 112.74 now PMD is saying they are only going to pay 65% of the quotation they did adjust. They now want to pay me R9 173.23. Panel beater said to me l do not have time with this because the the difference is too much (R, 906.01). l am a single mother and l use this car to uber to put food on table for my kids yet l am struggling using a damaged and police are giving me a hard time. PMD please do not give me stress like this your client bumped my car which was parked. In your statement your assessor blame me under negligence what did l do wrong the car was parked at an authorized parking lot and your client bumped the car.

Kindly clarity approved in figures

Thank you

PMD

Rep**** me on my email and still more they are willing to pay R9, 173.23 out of R16,079.24.
Their client is the one who looked for these quotations to fix my saying mine were very expensive. The assessor never phoned me to assess the car, he never came to my house. So he did assessment on a pictures sent to please PMD. It's not like l looked for this quotation myself. l am not trying to make myself reach. Your client bumped my car what is your problem in paying. If it was me who looked for this quotation l will say maybe l am trying to milk money from you. This is CRAZY PMD YOU CAN NOT TREAT ME LIKE THIS AFTER ALL YOU CLIENT BUMPED MY CAR.

Below is in feedback from PMD Still wanting to pay the R9,173.23 who is going to pay for difference. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE PMD THIS IS NOT FARE AT ALL. I AM A SINGLE MONTHER STOP STRESSING ME. I WILL TAKE ALL OUR CONVERSATIONS AND PUT ON FACEBOOD SO THAT SOUTH AFRICA WILL SEE WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH. THIS IS NOT FARE AT ALL YOUR CLIENT BUMPED MY CAR WHILE IT WAS ON PARKING AND I LOOKED FOR QUOTATIONS AND HE SAID THEY ARE EXPENSIVE HE WENT TO LOOK FOR QOUTATIONS OF HIS OWN CHOICE. NOW YOU ARE GIVING ME AN OPTION TO USE YOUR OWN PANEL BEATER THAT IS CRAZY AS A THIRD PARTY I MUST USE A PANEL BEATER OF MY OWN CHOICE

BELOW IS THERE RESPONSE TO ME AGAIN THE SAME THING YOU ARE TRYING TO ASSIST ME BUT YOU CRUSHING ME PUTTING ME ON A CORNER TO DO WHAT YOU WANT YET I AM NOT YOUR CLIENT WHOM YOU GIVE AN OPTION FOR YOUR OWN PANEL BEATER THIS IS CRAZY

Dear Ms Paradzai
Thank you for bringing your concern regarding the assessment of your vehicle to our attention.
Your complaint was escalated to the Market Conduct Department where we appreciate the opportunity to provide you with the requisite clarity in terms of the assessment of your vehicle.
We wish to provide the following clarity regarding our assessment process which should provide the necessary understanding of the approved amount on your claim.
In the first instance, we are sympathetic to your circumstances and endeavor to ensure that all claim outcomes are fair and correct.
As part of the claim’s approval process, a digital assessment was done on the vehicle to determine the extent of damages inflicted due to the incident 13 October 2022 that you had claimed for on 14 October 2022. From the digital assessment, it was determined that the damage sustained to the insured vehicle were repairable based on accident-related damage only.
We confirm that our assessors conducted the internal assessment based on the photographs supp**** are certified by the Vehicle Damage Qualification Governance Body of South Africa (VDQBSA), with years’ worth of experience in the vehicle assessment profession. All internal digital assessments conducted internally are done so in line with the parameters set by the VDQGBSA.
As part of the claim’s approval process, a digital assessment was done on the vehicle to determine the extent of damages inflicted due to the incident. From the digital assessment, it was determined that the damages sustained to the insured vehicle rendered the vehicle repairable and the amended quote amounted to R9,173.23
It is important to note that even though the quoted amount for the repair of your vehicle amounted to R16,079.24, this amount was reviewed and moderated based on accident-related damage as well as the apportionment principle. This legal principle of apportionment looks at the fault of the parties involved in an incident. It is important to note that your vehicle was parked on the side of the road in an area that was not designated for parking. This kind of conduct constitutes negligence.
It is for this reason that the approved amount for your vehicle damage was apportioned by 65%. It is important to note that because of the 65% apportionment based on your contributory negligence the apportionment percentage remains unchanged.
Kindly note The Assessing Team has moderated the quote in a manner that all accident-damage was considered. To provide you an opportunity to review the quote as per your concerns, the Third-Party Team has afforded you the opportunity to return your vehicle to your selected repairer to qualify the reason that your vehicle would not be able to be repaired for the apportioned contribution amount of R9,173.23. This assessment feedback from your repairer will be reviewed by Assessing Team.
We trust that the above is fair and instils confidence in how we regard and value our customers.
Assuring you of our continued best endeavours on your behalf.
Kind regards
Kgolagano Mokoka
