Prime Meridian - As good as not having cover
Firstly the insurer does not give an option to chose the nearest or repairer of choice after I was involved in an accident. I lodged a claim without knowing what the assessment cost would be. Their assessor quotes R11,000+ and my claim is regarded invalid as I did not collide with another car as per their clause. I then request their repairer of choice to quote me on owner's account and the quote comes back at R52, 000+ which constitute a write-off of the car. I enquire with the repairer why!! Apparently the insurer quoted me on alternative parts, and the repairer is a VW approved panel beater and cannot quote alternative parts. The insurer is now wanting me to appoint another repairer to work on the car at owner's cost, running away from the fact that the car is a write-off and I need to be compensated for it. <br> <br> Well! Well see about that.
