Unfair treatment and unexplained payouts can be highly frustrating. To address a massive disparity in my claim value—like a payout of R549 for damages worth up to R60,000. Is this what we should expext when we take car insurance. Disappointing treatment by Prime Insurance Company. Be courteous when you deal with them , they are no go zone, Stay away

Hello Tladi B,

Thank you for your post. We understand that any difference between what is expected and what is paid out can feel deeply disappointing.

At Prime, our goal is always to ensure that claim settlements align with the selected cover and the policy terms, while remaining fair and transparent.

In this case, the settlement was calculated based on your chosen growing cover policy and the confirmed lower trade value of your car as per the TransUnion AutoDealers Guide – the industry standard. As you wanted to keep your car, despite the assessment confirming it is written off, a deal amount was offered.

Our Market Conduct team has since been alerted and is already in contact with you to provide further clarity.

At Prime, we offer a range of innovative products, from comprehensive cover to third-party plus own-damage cover – giving you more choice to suit your specific needs.

Committed to resolving your concern with care.

Kind regards,
The Prime SA Team
