PMD'S REPULSIVE CLAIM EXPERIANCE

Dear Peter. I have two cars insured with PMD insurance. In October I submitted a claim for a damaged headlight on one of the cars. PMD has still not finalised the claim and they now tell me that they will reject the claim because I refused them access into my work cell phone. I tried to explain so many times that I cant give them access to my work cell phone as that would be a breach of information security with my employer and that would lead to me being dismissed from work. PMD simply refuses to understand that. should I lose my job to satisfy PMD that I have a broken headlight ? I am utterly disgusted by the treatment that I received from PMD and will spare no Rand in asserting my rights. I mean why does it matter to PMD where I was when the damage occurred ? the fact is that the damage is there. logic tells me that the best way of retaining clients and growing your business is to pay claims right ? that way you retain the current client and will get a free adverti*****t of your business when you keep clients happy. the opposite is also true. PMD's horrible claim experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. customers have a right to a fair deal !!!!

Dear Thato K, We appreciate your feedback as we strive to provide world-class service.

Rest assured that we do all in our power to ensure the speedy validation of all claims as we appreciate that the more time it takes us, the more it costs both of us.

We note that you have escalated the matter to the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance. We are therefore required to direct all communication with regard to your claim via the OSTI’s office and are obliged to await their findings which we shall, of course, respect, but which will likely take some more time to receive.
Should you, however, have any unrelated queries, we are more than willing to assist you.

We are of course, pleased to re-confirm that unlike with many other insurers, with PMD the excess payable when you claim under comprehensive cover reduces to absolute zero - and in a remarkably short period of time. Assuring you of our continued best endeavours on your behalf.

Kind regards,

The PMD Team.

well PMD, notwithstanding the fact that the matter has since been referred to the office of the OSTI, you sent me letter this very morning putting me on terms that you will repudiate my claim by the 20 December 2019 should I not comply with your requests for information. I have already stated it clearly and unequivocally that I consider your request to be immaterial, unreasonable and ********. I will not break the law even at the risk of you repudiating my claim. that having being said, you therefore do not have to wait until the 20 December to repudiate the claim as I would not have had a change of mind by then. I actually think that you prime people are disingenuous by saying you cant engage me further because the matter is at OSTI when you sent me a threat letter today 13 December 2019. such fork tongued behaviour is distasteful I think.

in my submissions, I raised a number of legal issues. Should you have taken the now missed opportunity to assign a legally trained person to attend to this matter, I am quite sure that we would by now be smoking the proverbial peace pipe. your call centre agent at claim department, Prudence, has demonstrated, spectacularly so, that she does not have a basic grasp of the legal principles raised in my submissions. in fact, she simply chose to close her eyes to those arguments as if they do not exist at all or as if I had not made any submissions. this , PMD is regrettable.

all things considered, this matter will ultimately be determined by the final arbiter of justice and we shall meet to inspect on who's side the scale of justice would have tilted. this, PMD, is a relentless pursuit of fair, reasonable and just treatment.
