PMD failed to take responsibility for the delay.

I got involved in a minor accident that cracked right mirror cover, dented right forward fender and scratched right indicator. PMD sent me to their preferred Panelbeater who evaluated the damage and recommended the replacement of all damaged parts, i then had to make a booking which was over a week after the evaluation.

The penalbeater never ordered the required parts prior to the booking date. The penalbeater kept buying wrong fenders until my 30 days car hire elapsed. I asked PMD to extend car hire, they refused in the beginning, but ended up extending by 4 days because they also contributed to the delay by talking long to approve buying of parts.

Here is the problem, PMD is refusing to take responsibility any further. I realised that after paying for car hire from my pocket plus excess i will end up paying way more than what i would have spent if i had fixed my car from my own pocket and they are still not sure about the completion date since they're still receiving wrong fenders, the car that I'm spending keeps accumulating.

I'd like to emphasise that my car was still driveable, i could have driven it until they received the correct parts. I'm so scared of the costs to the point were i even asked them to cancel the whole thing, but they refused. I even offered to pay for the wrong parts, but they still refuse.

Dear Vhulenda M,

Thank you for taking the time to raise your frustration with us.

We regret that your expectations regarding the claims process have not been met. Rest assured that we always do all in our power to avoid delays during the repair process and return safe vehicles to our clients as soon as possible.

As you will appreciate, the repair process may be affected by a number of factors that are outside the control of the repairer or ourselves. In your case, the repairer incurred some difficulty in the sourcing of parts. However, we are pleased to note that our Claims Team has been in contact with the repairer and they have been able to source high-quality OEM parts for the repairs of the vehicle.

Rest assured that our Market Conduct Team has already been notified of your experience and is already looking into the matter on your behalf.

We are sure that it is comforting to know that our nationwide panel of SAMBRA-approved repairers ensure that your vehicle will receive high-quality repairs and service..

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.

Kind regards,

The PMD Team

Dear PMD

You say it was out of your hands, I say had you and your Panelbeater bought the OEM parts from the beginning we wouldn't be here, but instead of just buying the OEM parts from the beginning you kept test fitting cheaper parts for over a month hoping they'll fit.

All this was out my hands too, but here i am paying for it alone. Between the three of us i am the only one who knows my pockets, but you refused when i tried to pull the plug since its becoming too expensive for me.
