PMD claim number CL***
<div>Claim number CL*** I'd like to Express my dissatisfaction at how I was unfairly treated by this insurer. I was involved in an accident on 31 July 2019 on my way back from Park Station (JHB) to my place. At the traffic light on Jeppe and Simonds street just by FNB Bank City, another vehicle came from my right and T-boned me on the right front wheel. I had right of way as my side of the robot was green. I logged a claim with PMD on 5 August 2019 as I was waiting for the accident report from JMPD which was only available on friday 2 August 2019, where the other driver claimed on his statement that his side of the traffic light was green. PMD had advised that I could submit my claim form on Monday, 5 August 2019. I was later assigned a claim technician, a lady by the name of Kaitlinn ****. During the course of the claim, a scene technician by the name of Sunny was assigned to view the footage from FNB Bank City as they have CCTV footage there. Kaitllin had advised that the FNB Bank city security was refusing for them to view the footage but later agreed. The scene technician went to view the footage but he advised that he could not make sense of what had transpired on the footage. He even advised that he saw a white vehicle being bumped and my car is platinum graphite in colour (charcoal). He arranged for me to accompany him to FNB Bank city to view the footage with him so that I can identify my vehicle. When we got to FNB ,the security guards did not allow us to view the footage because they are not allowed to show footage to members of the public. In my presence, Sunny asked the security guard for him alone to view the footage again and the guard said it was not possible for him to view again. A few days later, Sunny visited me at my workplace to take down my statement. He reiterated that it is important that I view the footage with him as he can't make sense of what transpired and who is who between myself and the other driver. Sunny and Kaitlinn even arranged for myself, Sunny, the other driver and his insurer to view the footage together. I was later told that FNB was refusing to show us the footage. On 26 August 2019, I called Kaitlinn and she advised that she and Sunny suspect that the may have been shown the wrong footage by FNB. Sunny was apparently supposed to write a report and provide it to Kaitlinn in order for her to submit my claim to what they call a 'final decision committee '. The claim was finally submitted to this committee on 29 August 2019. On 5 October 2019, Kaitlinn called me and informed me of the final decision committee's decision to reject my claim. The basis for the rejection is cited "During the validation of the claim it was revealed that the driver of the insured vehicle failed to stop at a red traffic light which was the direct cause of the accident. This conduct is regarded as grossly negligent and is in wilful violation of the provisions of the National Road Traffic Act ". This is unfair treatment to me because the scene technician advised that he could not make sense of the footage ,the quality thereof was very poor,he even saw a white car being bumped into. Kaitlinn also said they suspect that it may have been the wrong footage. I would hereby like to escalate this matter to the relevant people for them to review as it does not sit well with me for my claim to be rejected based on information that by their own admission, is not clear. If the scene technician was able to view the footage and clearly see that I had skipped a red robot, why would he want me to go with him and identify my vehicle so that he could make sense of what transpired. I bought my car brand new via finance on 28 June 2019. I literally only had the car for 33 (thirty three) calendar prior to the accident. I regret having insured my car with PMD. I now have to effect repairs to the amount of approximately R78000 (seventy eight thousand Rand). I still have to my instalments for the next 6 (six) years. I hereby plead with hellopeter to assist me as I am being taken for a ride by PMD. They still debited my premiums for the month of August and this is how they treat me. Please help!!!</div>
