Misleading of clients

I took out a cover with PMD trusting that I am covered should something happen to my vehicle. I was involved in an accident on the 1st of March and my car was written off, that was also confirmed by the people from the towing services who also towed my vehicle. PMD made promises when the cover was taken out that should something of that nature occur they will then pay for the towing services and storage and the pay for the vehicle. The story has changed since, they say according to their assessor the vehicle is not a write-off even though the airbags have exploded and that I am responsible for the payment of the towing service and storage for my vehicle, they also mentioned that they will only contribute the amount equivelant to the two premiums that they have debited from my account for the cover meaning that i am responsible for fixing the damage on my vehicle. They took 11 days to inform me of that meaning that since the car was at the towing premises for this long, then i will have to pay for that.

Hello mbostanley,

Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention.

In order to ensure that we obtain a professional and consistent standard in our damage assessments we always only use approved independent professional assessors.

As you now know, the outcome of the assessment on your vehicle factually established that your vehicle was not a write off.

A thorough review of your purchase conversation with us confirms that our Tele-Assistant did a thoroughgoing job of clearly explaining the nature of this product to you. Regrettably given that your policy was so new, your Accident Contribution Benefit amount was still quite low.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.

Kind regards,
The PMD Team.
