Misleading information

I joined the Prime Meridian insurance and paid full initiation fee and monthly instalments. I was then involved in a minor accident and then claimed with Prime Meridian Direct Insurance. The accesor evaluated and took pics of the damaged car. 2 months later I was called to be told that I had not been paying long enough for them to fix my car as my car's repairs was worth more than R12000. So why would Prime Meridian tell customers that they get cover from the first instalment? Stop misleading us into joining ur insurances if u can't live up to the expectations. Now I had to cancel everything because I am DISAPPOINTED

Hello FavourIsMyName,

We are sorry to learn of your disappointment.

A review of the purchase conversation reveals that our tele-assistant did an exceptional job in explaining the policy features to you. You were informed that we are not a comprehensive insurer and that our unique products cater for total loss through write-off, fire, theft, hijacking and natural disasters at a very affordable premium. Included in your policy was Accident Contribution Benefits (ACB) designed to contribute towards the cost of repairing minor accidental damage. These ACB benefits automatically increase by R1,000 every month. Your accident happened after you had paid just one premium and thus the contribution towards your minor damage is R1, 000.

We will contact you to carefully re-explain the benefits of your policy, including the fact that your premiums will NEVER increase, there is NEVER any excess to pay when you claim. Your ACB benefits will in time escalate to the FULL value of your vehicle and thereafter you will effectively enjoy full comprehensive cover at a fraction of the premium usually charged for elsewhere.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.

Kind Regards,
The PMD Team
