Look for a better insurance company :-(

I had an accident in February2016, it took 3months to approve my claim.

Now the "benefit" of fixing my car does not benefit me. The cost of fixing my car amounts to R48 000, I have only accumulated R20 000. The settlement on my car is R60 000. The car in it's current state can be sold for R25 000. So it would make sense for me to take my accumulated "benefit" + the current worth of the vehicle and pay it off with R15 000 that I need to take out. Which is a viable option for me.

However they are not giving me this R20 000 "benefit" unless I fix the car, which means I will have to spend R28 000 from my pocket to meet the (R48 000). They are not willing to be flexible and understand that fixing the car does not benefit me.

Worst experience I've ever had, I would not advise anyone to take themselves through such terrible service.

Hello byson.sithole@,

Thank you for your correspondence regarding your claim, which had already previously been received via our internal client representation facility.

Our highly capable internal dispute resolution department are confident that we would have been able to resolve your concerns internally, however you have simultaneously referred the matter to the Office of the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance.

In light of the above, we are required to direct all communication with regard to your claim via the OSTI’s office and are obliged to await the findings of the Ombudsman which we shall of course respect, but which will likely take some more time to receive.

Nonetheless, should you however have any unrelated queries, we are more than willing to assist you.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.

Kind Regards,

The PMD Team
