insurance that drags out

i was involved in a hit and run on the night of the 8th January 2016 where a taxi hit me from behind while i was waiting at a robot, he hit me with such force that my vehicle had to be written off, i have been waiting 44 days now for my claim to be processed and it seems every day there is a new reason to take time and not pay out my claim, the latest is that they need my cellphone record to make sure i was at the spot of the accident, which i find so funny because i have a police report and i car that is wrecked and cant drive and that is apparently not enough, i am not one to complain on social media but this is ridicoulos, when your car gets written off beyond your control your insurance company should be there to back you, apparently this is not the case, it seems to me that they will take as long as possible to pay out your claim or take as much time as possible to find a reason why they dont have to. i have gotten to the point where i ask myself am i going to get my claim paid out or is it all a lie, considering Hello peter is filled with stories of people not getting there claims paid i would think that Prime meridian would have done something to start taking these things serouisly, i am wandering if i should just go to the ombudsman and get my money that way.
