Insurance does not want to pay for the claim

I have reported the accident on or about 30 may 2015 and till today the claim is not yet settled. Two months after we submitted the claim they requested the cell phone records of my husband and we waited the feedback and we did not receive anything. I decided to fix the car myself because my husband was about to lose his job because he could not attend to the work call-outs because he did not car. I informed the insurance that we fixed the car because we could wait anymore for their feedback. The insurance requested me to send them the photos of the car after the repairs and proof of payment of the repairs and I have sent, and waited for their feedback. They have recently called me to say they need to go to the accident scene before they submit the claim for approval. this is not fair, they want to go to the accident scene five months after the accident. i am badly hurt by Prime Meridian Insurance, it looks like they do not want to pay claim. I see that they have the prime slot on SABC to advertise their insurance and I am worried that fellow South African will be treated like. My colleague at work is facing the same problem with Prime Meridian. Please assist.
