Insurance Deceit [ Prime Meridian]

Good Day,

I have had the worst experience of my life with Prime Meridian. The reason I pay insurance is to make sure I don't have to deal with the hassle of not being able to fix the vehicle as no one has an odd R20.000 lying around "just in case”. I gave the vehicle to my brother to use and told Prime Meridian that I need to add my younger brother as a secondary driver as he would be driving it more often than myself. This hijacking happened on the 17th of April and recovered by the Police on the 18th at 05h00 in the morning. The vehicle is still sitting in our yard with no tires, the front and back bumpers are messed, these no spare tire , emergency triangle , jacking tools, and the key of the vehicle.

They asked for phone records to see if he really got hijacked at the place where he got hijacked and they were given to them. All the paper work and everything else they needed where given to them. After 3 and half months of them investigating by sending an external investigator, they decided to pay out R10.000 as a "courtesy" and the damages cost plus minus R30.000. What gets to me the most is I’m still paying them till this day and I have received no assistance to get my vehicle fixed. They then sent me a letter two weeks ago that they will only contribute R10.000 to get it fixed however I need to pay balance out myself. I then asked Gugu Ngubane whose the lady whose handling the claim currently that I do not have R17.000 at this moment so they can purchase the new tires and get a new key and I'll fix everything else myself as time goes on because I was so tired of fighting and arguing . She then got another lady to call me and tell me that Prime Meridian will only pay the R10.000 and before they can pay out that money I need to give them proof of how and where the vehicle got fixed.

What was the point of paying insurance if I’m paying for damages I never even asked for. My brother should be able to drive where he needs to drive to without being treated like a ******** or that he asked for it. He does not drink alcohol nor was he restless. They had just came back from a soccer match in Mpumalanga and the closing date for that vacancy was the following Monday hence he had to drive that night of the night to the lady he went to meet with him.

We have already dealt with quite a lot as a family and now we have to deal with this company that has no integrity or accountability.

I would not recommend Prime Meridian to anybody. it’s the worst of the worst.
