Insurance Claim Payout

I am writing to formally escalate my insurance claim with Prime South Africa, which has not been resolved within a reasonable timeframe. Despite my previous correspondence and attempts to follow up, I have yet to receive satisfactory feedback or meaningful progress on this matter.

Since lodging my claim, I have experienced delays and a lack of clear communication regarding its status. This has caused considerable inconvenience and concern, particularly given the urgency and financial implications associated with this matter.

I kindly request the following as a matter of urgency:

A detailed update on the current status of my claim Clear reasons for the delay A defined timeline for resolution Assignment or confirmation of a dedicated claims manager handling my case Please treat this matter as urgent. Should I not receive a satisfactory response within 48 hours, I will have no alternative but to escalate the matter further to the relevant regulatory authorities, including the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance.

I trust that this will not be necessary and that Prime South Africa will prioritise resolving this matter promptly and professionally.

Hello Gafsa D,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when you don’t feel properly informed.

At Prime, we strive to deliver reliable and effective outcomes while ensuring fairness at every stage. Third-party claims can often take longer as we need to gather all information, confirm liability, and ensure accurate settlement.

Our records confirm that progress on your claim was dependent on receipt of the quotation for your car’s repairs. As we only received your quote yesterday, your claim is now in our validation stage - the final step which ensures a fair and accurate outcome for both you and our policyholder.

Our Market Conduct Team has already been alerted and will be in contact with you to provide further clarity.

We've often found that high excess fees lead to third-party claims. At Prime, we are proud to offer innovative features like our unique Reduce-to-Zero Excess benefit, which helps our clients save when it matters most

 Kind regards,
 The Prime SA Team
