Inconsistency on update
This is after having called the insurance many times myself to find out what is happening to my vehicle after they declared it a write-off on the 04/04/2025 thereafter asked for NATIS certificate and settlement quote of which I obliged. I sent the NATIS certificate in the 4/4/25 and I requested from my car financier (SBSA) to send settlement quote but bank asked who was handling the case because they require their details to which PRIMESA rep**** that the claim was not allocated to any investigator yet (07/04/2025). On the 10/04/2025 they call requesting to uplift the car to an Auction space in EL as they wanted to take the car they from the panel beaters (In King William’s Town - Ray Giese’s body shop) to and auction space in East London (which is the only time they actually me to update me about any thing this was on the 10-11th of April 2025. That is also when I was given the name of Mbalentle Ngcobo as being the person responsible for my claim and also that the claim now had an assessor. Now that I had the name of the person responsible I called my banker on Monday the 14/04/2025 to request they said the settlement quote to PRIMESA of which they submitted in the 15/04/2025, but PrimeSA still did not update me on that. Same day I call them (PrimeSA) as per usual because they do not update me. This is now the 14th of April 2025 and that’s when I find out that they still are requesting tyre pictures from the panel beaters which puzzled me because they had uplifted my car to the East London auction space. I was also told that it is day 11 of them (PrimeSA) doing investigations so they’re well within scope of their investigation because they had said it would take 10-15 days to complete. Still 15 days lapsed the was no update from them (PrimeSA) of which on the 16/04/2025 they said they would update me within 48hours. I was yet forced to call and ask for an update (23/94/2025) which is when I insisted to speak to management and I was then referred to market conduct department who promised that I will get an update in 48 hrs of which I did get it on the 24/04/2025 and was not in my favour. I was then instructed to pay R14 968, 58 writhing 10 days and get my vehicle from the Auction space in EL.
Incompetence, *****ulent and negligence After having received the conclusion with regard to them (PrimeSA) stipulating that they won’t approve my claim due to high speed (156km/h) in a 120km.h. I lodged a complaint and asked for evidence. I requested CCTV footage, assessment report of the accident claim, proof that they (PrimeSA) went to the accident scene to assess the area taking into consideration the weather forecast for that day and how that may have influenced the car locomotion, also consider how it happened as narrated and drawn on the car accident report as per their (PrimeSA) request. This is inclusive of evidence of how the speed was deduced to be 156km/h in a 120km/h zone. I will also need all evidence that led to the conclusion of the claim being unapproved by the insurer. I requested the breakdown of the fees now that had to be paid by me which include towing the vehicle from the accident scene to panel beaters and it being uplifted to East London Auction area. They request 10 days to re-investigate which could be more than that. That is puzzling because it should not be more than 48 hours because they did investigate after all that I was actually speeding on that day. And how do you move a car to an auction space from panel beaters if not done investigating?. It is then that I realised they were *********** and somehow *****ulent because they had miscalculated everything because they now had come with a different amount of R6164.18. What if I had paid the amount and asked no questions. Would I have been reimbursed the money?? They also state I have 10 days from the 24/04/2025 till 03/05/2025 to retrieve my car that is after I have made payment to them. Which makes me wonder what have I been paying the R1930,82 for the past 11 months for if they are not paying for anything as my insurer. What exactly are they liable for after having paid my premiums on time and every month. I also went through the insurance company terms and conditions not anywhere in it do they state that should a claim be not approved I am given 10 days to pay them and get my car at the so called area they deem safe.
