EXTREMELY CONCERNED CLIENT

My partner had an accident on 19 March 2016. We received a ref number so that the car would be towed away. The agent explained all the terms & conditions of how the storage will work seeing that the car will be towed to Booysen because that is where they store their cars. I was told that another agent will call to log a claim for us. Monday was a public holiday so I received a call from Karabo on Tuesday and he asked about where the car was towed and I mentioned to him that it was said to me that it will be taken to Booysen. Then Karabo said that he could not locate my car and it's not in Booysen as it was said to me. He then called back to say "ooh Miss Magoro we have located the car and yes it is in Booysen". I asked as to when the car would be assessed because I was worried about the storage fees that were accumulating and he said in 24-48 hours. On Thursday before easter weekend, I receive a call from lady stating that the assessor had called her to say that he/ she went to the storage yard in Booysen to assess my car and it was not found. I called and asked to speak to Karabo again to find out as what was the story about my car not being found in the storage yard. He said that he would speak to the lady and find out about the whole issue. I called again and Karabo said to unfortunately the assessor said that they could not locate my car and when Karabo called the assessor, the assessor could not be found. So at about 5 pm on Thursday I called Karabo again to find out if they had found the car and he said no they had not. Looking at the time I knew nothing would be done by then. So I spent 6 days not know the position of my car, wherethere it is indeed in Booysen or not or someone was just lazy to do their job because it's a day before the long weekend. I would not know. I was called by Karabo again to say on Tues afternoon to say by some stroke of magic my car was found & assessed. Now it was referred to Kaveshnee Johnson and she made contact with my partner between the 6-7 April to say that she will be the one investigating the accident. My partner received an sms with all her details & she later called to say she was struggling to get hold of my partner and she then told me that the car was deemed a write off. I mentioned to her that I had spoken to him earlier and he was walking at that time so maybe that was the reason why he was not answering his phone. She said she would try him again but that never happened, that was end of April. Till to this day she has not called to give us a proper update about the claim. I called the whole of the previous week and she never bothered to return calls. So its been way over 30 days and I'm clueless about the progress of my claim. I'm really angry because I've been patient about this whole claim process, and I am becoming stranded more by the day.

Hello tmagoro86,
Thank you for taking the time to bring your concern to our attention.
A detailed review of your claim, especially the circumstances relating to the towing, storage and assessment of your partner’s vehicle revealed that the vehicle was towed directly to one of our service provider’s facilities following the unfortunate accident. We would therefore like to reassure you that there was in fact no confusion at any stage with regard to the location of your vehicle.
An assessor was further appointed but due to the Easter Weekend, wherein there is a notorious increase in the number of accidents, which did unfortunately delay the assessment longer than usual.
Notwithstanding the above, as we are sure your partner would have informed you, one of her consultants has subsequently contacted her telephonically to reassure her of the substantial progress that has been made in her claim. Nonetheless, despite further delays, such as those experienced with Ekurhuleni Metro Police in providing us with a copy of the Accident Report and to confirm that the claim will be finalised shortly.
Assuring you of our continued best endeavours on your behalf.
Kind Regards,
The PMD Team
