Comprehensive Insurance Cover that is not Comprehensive
Prime Meridian sells us Consumers Comprehensive insurance for our vehicles, We take the cover having peace of mind that if something unforeseen happens to our vehicles we have the insurance to cover us for repairs or pay the bank if the vehicle is financed or pay us to buy a replacement vehicle.
However their Comprehensive Insurance is not entirely comprehensive and does come with exclusions to their policy which kind of makes this a Limited Comprehensive cover.
In my case my vehicle caught on fire, which was possibly due to the battery exploding in the boot which is where it is located in the BMW.
Prime Meridian did not pay for my claim because there is an exclusion in their policy for fires that start within the vehicle. Which I feel this may have been acceptable if it was human error, but in my case this was not as the battery is part of the vehicle itself.
I sent email to lodge dispute with the rejection of the claim but did not get any response.
Hopefully my review has provided insight on you getting Comprehensive cover from Prime Meridian, Better to rather take insurance from the bank directly which has no exclusions and provides you "Comprehensive Insurance Cover".
Financial institutes should also be advised that accepting Confirmation of Cover from Prime Meridian for their Client's that are Financing their vehicles, should be discouraged as they are not truly getting comprehensive cover on their vehicles
