Complaint

I have been trying to get a hold of PMD the whole day to discuss the issues I have with the lack of progress and consolidation of my 3rd party claim.

The consultant assigned to my case, Daphne Mufamadi, has not given me any report on the progress of my claim and every time I call her she tells about PMD's claim policy. Now I understand that your policy states that the success of my claim is dependant on the success of your client's claim; but no progress has been made regarding his claim either!

I do not understand why I have to be this inconvienced especially because my car was legally parked when your client crashed into me over 50 days ago!

Well, I'm tired of waiting and now I am immobile because my car was impounded as it's rear is badly damaged and the rear lights no longer work. The METRO police department responsible for this told me that I need to pay R1500 to release the car and repair it within 10 days.

I will call you again tomorrow until I get a response. PMD needs to seriously re-evaluate their policies regarding the 3rd party claims because this is complete nonsense!

Hello mxenga,
Your disquiet is received and noted.
We often find that it is due to a high excess charged at a Third Party's own Insurer that causes them to claim elsewhere. In light of this we offer our client's zero excess when they claim, which means there is no surprise excess payment when submitting a claim and our clients are not inconvenienced by having to claim from a Third Party Insurer.
Nonetheless, as you are aware, whilst we strive to assist third parties as soon as possible after you have been involved in an accident with one of our policyholders the validation of our client's claim has to be completed first.
You will however be pleased to know that substantial progress has in fact been made with the validation of our policyholder’s claim and our claims department has confirmed that they will continue to provide regular updates to you both regarding your respective claims and their progress.
Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.
Kind Regards,
The PMD Team
