Claiming process
Now going into the 8th day/ 2 weeks without outcome of my claim. Leaving me distressed and in agony. I must always call or request for a call back. The panel beater is saying they waiting for prime, prime is saying they’re waiting for the panel beater. I have never had this long wait when it was still PMD. Now wondering if I’ll even have feedback by the end of this week. Car rental days lapsing. Update on the outcome to be done…

25 Mar 2026, 16:27Hello Tumi,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your patience while your claim was being reviewed. We value all input as it helps us improve and better serve our clients.
At Prime we aim to keep the claiming process as clear and stress‑free as possible, and we know how important it is to receive timely feedback when your car and car hire are involved.
Our records indicate that the approval of your claim has been shared with you as well as the applicable excess. We're sorry that the validation of your claim took longer than expected, as the damages to your car was not clearly visible and this required your car to be assessed in order to finalise your claim. Going forward, we will continue to monitor your claim to ensure that no unnecessary delays occur.
Regardless, our Market Conduct team has been alerted and will provide you with detailed feedback on the planned progression of your claim.
It should be comforting to know that our nationwide panel of SAMBRA-approved repairers ensure that cars receive high-quality repairs and service.
Committed to resolving your concern with care.
Kind Regards,
The Prime SA Team

31 Mar 2026, 11:41My claim was submitted on 12 March 2026, and I was later informed that it had been approved. However, despite this, CK Coachworks has still not received any repair authorisation. As a result, my vehicle remains unrepaired.
I am also being told that the quote is still under review, which contradicts the confirmation that the claim has already been approved. This lack of clarity and consistency is extremely concerning.
There has been poor communication throughout this process, with delays and no clear explanation provided regarding the status of the repair authorisation or the final scope of work.
As a client with comprehensive insurance, I expect:
- Clear and consistent communication
- Timely processing of claims
- Prompt authorisation for repairs once a claim is approved
At this stage, I am left without my vehicle and without clear answers. I request urgent intervention to:
- Finalise and issue repair authorisation to CK Coachworks
- Provide clarity on the current status of the claim and repair process
- Resolve this matter without further delay
I hope this review prompts immediate action.
