Claim declined after 6 weeks: CL***

Hello, I'd like to express my disappointment in this Insurance company. After almost being part of PMD for 2.5 years and never missing a payment, the time i have a minor accident on my vehicle, getting my claim approved has been a nightmare. Its now 6 weeks and they just told me that my claim is denied. Day 2 after the accident, all certified documentation, police report, third party confirmation and privacy access of cell network details confirming is done, and now its declined on Day 40. I have been really patient with this people, and im fed up. From reviews to experts, trying to find a reason to disapprove my claim is pathetic. I am taking this further with the legal department, my lawyers will get involved and Ombudsman will hear about this.

Dear Juraish J,

We appreciate the time you have taken to raise your frustration with us.

Our aim is to provide world class service to our policyholders during every interaction. It saddens us to hear that the service you received fail to impress. Rest assured that we perform our validations not for the sake of creating unnecessary delays or to avoid claims but for the protection of all of our clients.  .

We  regret your displeasure regarding the outcome of your claim.A thorough review of the outcome of your claim does confirm that the decision made is in line with the policy terms and conditions.

Your post has been brought to the attention of our Market Conduct Team who will contact you shortly to provide a further explanation in this matter.

Unlike with many other insurers, with PMD the excess payable when you claim under comprehensive cover reduces to zero - and in a remarkably short period of time.

Assuring you of our continued best endeavours on your behalf.

Kind regards,

The PMD Team

Good Day PMD Team,

Thank you for responding to my review.
Unfortunately im still in a situation where I dont know the reasoning behind the Claim outcome.
Please understand that receiving a Letter of rejection after 6 weeks with no factual information or reasoning behind rejection is unfair.

I finally got in contact with your Legal Team today after 3 days of attempts and I am still not getting the answers to my request, "For what reasoning was my claim declined and what are the misrepresentation of facts?" Im being told that I cant be provided with this information.

As your client, help me understand how I am supposed to trust the word of my insurance "Treating the Customer Fairly" if I cant be given answers after 6 weeks of waiting to why my claim was decline?

Please note that my premium is set to go off again next week, which will be 3 premiums since my claim request that PMD will take from me, and not providing the service that I was promised.

Either im being ****** blindly, or Im just not a priority at all.
Im afraid to know how many others are and were put in this exact situation.

Regards
Juraish J

Hi Prime Meridian,

It has now been 2 months and im still in the dark on my Claim.
I have waited an additional 14 working days on the Legal Team to investigate my Claim and nothing, no response, no communication on why my claim was declined, and no reason as to why I had to wait this long for an answer.

I have been told by PMD that I have a claim amount of up to R120000.00,
yet my claim of almost a third of this amount has been declined with no good reason. Pathetic.

This has been a truly bad reflection on the Prime Meridian and the Santam group, but yet still no care for their loyal clients.
I have been paying my insurance premium now for a vehicle that is not mobile.
At the moment I feel like im being ****** each month, and getting no service at all from you people.

Note that I have recorded and documented everything that has been done so far, and will seek legal consultation on this besides having the OSTI investigate, if I dont receive feedback by the end of this week.

Regards,
Juraish Jaftha
