Claim declined
I was involved in a car accident on the 08.05.2021 and lodged a claim on the 10.05.2021 with all the relevant information required only to be called this morning that my claim has been declined due to exceeding speed limit on the road where the accident occurred which none of it makes sense, firstly the road I was driving on has no street light, it was raining that morning and the road was dampened so the was no reason whatsoever to exceed the speed limit.
I find the reasoning absurd and unfair. I’m honestly not happy with the outcome. Now I’m expected to pay a release fee of R3 473 where else it was insist that the car is to be taken there. I need a review on this.

A review of your claim with us indicates that the decision was based on independent confirmation that the road rules were contravened at the time of the accident.
As a service to our clients, we have arrangements with our service providers to assist with the safe and cost-free storage of our clients’ vehicles during the claim validation. As your claim was not successful, the towing fees are not covered under your policy.
Our Market Conduct Team assures us that they will provide you with a further detailed explanation shortly.
We are of course, pleased to re-confirm that unlike with many other insurers, with PMD the excess payable when you claim under comprehensive cover reduces to absolute zero - and in a remarkably short time.
