CL***:Most terrible &pathetic service and worst car insurance I ever come across in my entire life

My car was in a accident on d 27/01/2016,my husband who being added as a second driver was driving it and passed away on d spot&d car ws a write off. I logged a claim&sent all required documents by 14/02/2016.I had been liasing wth Raksha Ramrathan who was working on d claim.I kept calling 4feedbck bt no one really bothered 2come back 2me.Then on 23/05/2016 Katherine called saying that my claim was not approved then sent a letter with this reason’ The policy was not in force at the time of the incident due to non-payment of your premium scheduled for deduction in [January 2016]’ I had made a payment on the 30/01/2016 cash but for some reason PMD claimed the payment was not reflected on their system. I then emailed them a proof of payment, but on the 01/06/2016, Tameryn who is Rakshas supervisor told me that she and the insurer stand by their decision to decline the claim, when I asked the reason since it was non-payment then later discovered the payment was made, she didn’t give me any joy but jst insited that they not gonna chance on the decision. How heart-breaking and helpless I felt. It was not enough that I lost a husband but had to deal with a bunch on cruel, self centred people who present to care abt their clients while they only care abt their own interest. PMD must fall, I hate this car insurance and would never wish my own enemy to join them. I request that this claim be reviewed and my car be paid as it deserves without pointless excuses

Hello babalwa-zubenathi-nongogo,
We can appreciate how troubling and traumatising the loss of your husband due to the accident must have been. We would therefore once again like to extend our condolences towards you and your family.
Whilst we are deeply empathetic to your challenging circumstances, we are obliged to maintain a strict application of our policy terms and conditions for the benefit of all of our policyholders.
In light of the above, and when considering that the January premium raised on the 7th was manually reversed at your bank, we were unfortunately not able to accept the cash payment made on the 30th of January, which was made after the tragic accident.
Accordingly, further information regarding the outcome of your claim and our considerations therein will be sent to you via email.
Assuring you of our continued best endeavours.
Kind Regards,
The PMD Team
