Bad service when it come to claims
I am really disgusted by the service i got when I submitted a claim. You want me to pay excess of R16000 for a damage of R2500. How does that make any sense. Im done and I want out of this insurance and the people i recommended I will tell them of this so they can stay away.

04 Dec 2025, 13:15Hello Minkz M,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We truly value hearing from our clients, as it helps us improve and address any concerns effectively.
At Prime, we apply excesses in a way that is fair, transparent, and consistent with common industry practice, and it is very important to us that clients understand how both standard and early-claims excesses work, particularly in the first months of a policy.
In your case, your claim for damage was assessed with a repair estimate of R15,024.16, with a likelihood that additional work or parts could push this higher during the repair process. We remind you that your policy includes a basic excess and an early-claims excess. This type of early-claims excess is a standard feature used across much of the insurance industry to help keep monthly premiums more affordable, by requiring a higher contribution from the client if a claim is made early in the life of the policy.
Our Market Conduct Team will be reaching out to you shortly to provide a detailed explanation and assist with any further questions you may have.
Unlike many competitors, Prime offers an excess that reduces to zero over 36 months if you remain claim-free, providing even greater value and peace of mind.
Committed to resolving your concern with care.
Kind regards,
The Prime SA Team
