Bad claim handling

I want to share my experience with Prime South Africa to warn others before you fall into the same trap I did.

For over three months, my car claim has been handled with repeated delays, broken promises, and contradictory information. The parts for my vehicle were promised multiple times (29 August, 2 September, and 9 September), yet never arrived as stated. When a radiator was finally delivered on 3 September, it was damaged. To make matters worse, I was later told the remaining parts had already been delivered — yet the panel beaters confirmed they had not received anything.

This has left me without my car for months, caused endless frustration, and destroyed any trust I had in Prime South Africa’s ability to manage claims professionally.

If you are considering using them, please be aware of how they operate. My advice: be cautious, ask the right questions upfront, and think twice before trusting them with your vehicle and your money.

Dear Nontle P,

Thank you for your post. We sincerely regret the frustration and inconvenience you experienced during the repair process.

At Prime, we are committed to supporting our clients throughout the claims journey, and it’s concerning to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations in this instance. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and have already taken steps to address this uncommon occurrence.

While we aim to ensure a seamless process, delays in parts procurement can sometimes arise due to external factors, such as supplier availability or logistical challenges, which are unfortunately beyond our direct control.

We are pleased to confirm that your car repairs have been completed, and your vehicle has been back with you since 12 September.

Isn’t it a relief to know that with Prime’s optional Car Hire Benefit, you can remain mobile during the repair process?

Kind regards,
The Prime SA Team
