Excuses to withhold deposits

<p>We lived at Summer Place 36 for a year and in that year we have had to deal with shoddy maintenance, lack of feedback etc.</p> <p>Kitchen cupboard doors coming op, mould in bathroom cupboard, balcony door rusted shut etc.</p> <p>Our geyser burst and was replaced by a cheap one that leaked soon afterwards and was left in after another one was installed. </p> <p>One toilet just kept on leaking even after so called maintenance fixed it.</p> <p>Emails, sms's, WhatsApp messages etc was ent numerous times with almost no feedback.</p> <p>No we are struggling to get our deposit back after having to move due to my husband changing jobs.</p> <p>Was told by Michelle that a proof of employment would suffice and that we would receive our deposit. </p> <p>But now it seems that excuses are being made to keep our deposit.</p> <p>Example: because my 2 year old wrote with chalk on the walls and their cleaners couldn't remove it.</p> <p>Chalk wipes off with a wet wipe.. Seriously.</p> <p>So, fine... Paint the place but at least give us a quote and some feedback. </p> <p>Michelle keeps on ignoring us or makes excuses when she bothers to reply.</p> <p>This is unacceptable.</p> <p>Maybe lawyers and the Consumer board should be involved now as I see many complaints about deposits.</p> <p> </p>
