Horrible customer service

Saturday the 12th I went to Prime hardware next to Prime cure to a quote for tiles I needed for the whole house. I think I was assisted by a guy called Sonny if I am not mistaken who I presume is a business partner there. He agreed to do it for me calculated everything using the paper I got from the person who I was going fit the tiles for me. He gave us an amount of R6700+ and we said we were coming back because we were waiting for money to come through. Firstly the language barrier was a bit of a problem because he did not speak very good English and spoke a foreign language when he spoke on the phone while he was doing the calculations. Anyway he was not happy with us leaving and would not give us the paper he used for our calculations nor did he want us to take the quote he made because he assumed we were going to another hardware with it. We were force to leave it there. That was suppose to be a red flag but my partner and I left and spoke about him and how he didn't look very happy.

We then came back a few hours later told him the money was going to reflect in our bank account in 24 hours and asked if the opened on Sunday which was the next day and he just nodded using his head but his face was showing that he was not pleased but we promised we were coming back. Unfortunately the money only reflected on my bank account on Monday and I was at work but asked my partner who was with me to go and pay for everything and take everything home.

He went to the store there was not electricity meaning he was not able to get the quote and did not know how he calculated everything. When I went out for lunch I went to my phone called my partner who was there at the time and he told me because of no electricity they are not able to get the quote but the guy insisted on doing a calculation himself because he wanted the money we were going to pay. I then told him we agreed on 23 boxes of tiles. 10 boxes were in a combo they offered so we bought 2 combos and 3 boxes extra just in case we ran short. He then said it was going to be R6200+. I asked them why the money decreased and in my head I thought maybe it is because they didn't add some things as we also needed wall tiles. He then paid and left with the delivery guy from the store.

The following day I went to my locker and found about 5 missed calls on my phone checked and saw Prime hardware but was confused why they were calling. I don't keep my phone with me when working so I put it back in my locker and carried on with my day. When I came back again at lunch about 6 more missed calls with another number. This time I didn't check and later that day I asked my partner to call the last number and was told it was security guard working at the store calling because we didn't pay for 3 boxes and we needed to come back and pay or he was told he would have to pay from his salary. Employees there are mistreated. My partner said this guy is really sounding scared babe what are we going to do?I rep**** saying no it was a mistake on their side and we asked and because the guy was greedy he didn't want you to leave with money he calculated everything incorrectly so we are not paying anything.

The next day the guy Sonny called my partner and swore at him saying that they are now going to come and fetch the 3 boxes. Not even 5 minutes later they delivery guy came with a guy who said was a head security and begged us to give the boxes back because their jobs were at risk if we didn't. I then told him 1 box of wall tiles had on 11 tiles that were fine the rest were broken. He then took a picture when he went back he told the guy and he said that was not his problem. He then called us and told us whoever is coming to query the box with broke tiles must be ready to fight because the guy was busy swearing at the background.

I didn't get a refund for my broken tiles. I was really mistreated by the rude guy from the hardware.
