Dysfunctional toy

Am disappointed with Prima toys. I recently bought a toy for my baby. It looked good. A car key remote which makes various sounds. I was surprised that the toy didn't make any sound yet it was labelled that batteries were included in the toy. I opened the battery compartment of the toy & what I found surprised me & my family. One of the batteries was very old with the covering coming off. How did the toy pass quality assurance tests if any were done?
