Very Bad Zoo enclosure conditions
My Family and I visited the Pretoria National Zoo on Sunday the 27/09/2015 and we were very disappointed and shocked to find the amount of ******* in and around the animals enclosures.<br> The giraffe had a black label bottle in his water and the bird house was full of plastic bottles and chip and orio packets.<br> I contacted the Zoo and was shocked at their response regarding the matter, the welfare of the animals and there state of the enclosures were never addressed, instead the Apies river was addressed and they explained the litter comes from there, but the enclosures that had the ******* in was not close to the river.<br> <br> these animals can not speak for themselves and this should never be a problem in a place that is there to give these animals the best possible care and that is not being upheld.<br> <br> responsibility should be taken for this unacceptable matter.

The litter by the public is a great concern to us and, at all times, we endeavour to clean as much as possible as soon as possible. The welfare of our animals remains our top priority.
