Prestige Auto Haus / Traders, Alberton, a transaction that has gone sour.

That is one star too many. I recently bought an old MG TF from this dealer, my car is in fact proudly displayed on their FB page. What I thought to be a great deal turned out rather sour. The car has an electrical problem and would sometimes simply not start, or the radio will disconnect prompting for its security code. On the day I bought it, it failed to start and they put in another battery. Yet the problem has reoccurred. When I bought it, the weather was still moderate with little need for the aircon. In the mean time, it has started to warm up and the car's aircon is clearly not working properly (and it is black). It has also started to sway on the road and feels pretty unstable.

When we concluded the deal on the 29th August, I was told that the car is subject to a 6 month guarantee that should cover any underlying mechanical problems, I was promised a copy of the contract as well as a full mechanical report that was done on the car by an independent expert. I am still waiting for all that.

I have tried numerous times to get the the dealer to revert back to me on these issues, also to talk directly to the owners/CEO, but without any luck. They just sent me the registration papers and that was it. I was being told that I got a huge discount and as such it was being imp**** that they would not spend more money on it. This is besides the point though, there was no agreement for me to forfeit my rights and to accept a voetstoots "lemon".
