Hat - It’s a LEAH – Simon and Mary Hat (Green). Cost of the HAT – R 931.50 – provided the company with receipt. Design of the HAT – provided the company with pictures.

On the 13 September 2023. I took my hat to Pressed In Time Valley View. When I left the hat at the store, I told the lady who was assisting how they should clean. They should not wash but take out the dust and that was because of the material used on the hat. The hat only had dust, caused by falling on ground. I asked the lady more than once if they will be able to clean such material. She said yes, they will be able to assist and took the hat.

A week pass, they call me to collect. when I got there. The hat had shrieked. Angry as I was, I asked what happened. The lady who was now assisting me was different, at first she said, that is how they got it. I showed her the picture of the hat, fortunate enough the initial lady that took the hat was there. Indicated that, the hat they are giving me is not how it was when received and confirmed that I gave instruction of how it should be cleaned and that she also wrote it down for the people that cleans. The manager now changed her statement and said no she was made aware of what happened. The people accidently put the hat in the dryer reason it shrieked. I told her, I am not going to take it. I want back the Hat I left with the same shape. She told me she will send it back to the cleaners and will call me to collect. 2 weeks pass, i get a call to come collect. When I get there, the hat doesn’t fit my head. It could fit a 5-year-old head. The shape is lost. I was angry and disappointed, She then said, she will take it back and speak to the owner of the store. first week of October I am called back, I am now told the rules of the company when it comes to damage goods in their care, but they are willing to give me R 400.00 for the damage and that I must consider it’s not a new hat reason for the amount. I was angry, sad. I had no anergy to talk nor fight and ask questions. I wanted to be out of the store. Fighting them on this, were will I start. Do have layers cash laying around to pursue this. I then said, they can give half of the original price. I will then order another one. The manager then said, she will consult and come back to me. Thursday 5/10/2023 I get a call to come to the store and collect. The line was bad, thought she will call me back, she didn’t. I only had time today 09/10/2023 to go to the store. When I get there, because now I am seen as annoying customer. The service is horrible to say the list. From when I got into the door. The lady who is in charge today tells me that they will only give me R 400.00 As I was about to ask what happened to what I said I want to happen with regards to the payment. she laughs at me and carries on with her phone, as if I am not there. Take the R400.00 out from the till and put it on the counter. I was disrespected and that makes me angry. I don’t know how to be loud, I would loved to turn her off Reason that I am not well, and just came back to the doctor, I said to her, I need her to write on the receipt I initially received, how much she is giving me and reason why I am being given R 400.00. She started laughing again, refused to write. Called out her colleagues at the back to come write. They all laughed. No one came. At the end she writes the amount she is giving me, the reason she put is “unhappy customer”. That was a slap in a face. I will not be treated as low. I must account, tell my partner why I came back with no hat and have proof for my self of what had happened. To cover myself if anything I left store without taking anything. Please anyone with advice, in a case like this what should I do. Customers should be treated with respect regardless their nationality, at the end of the day I am a client and human with fillings. Who spent R 931.50 on a hat, didn’t still nor did I get it in bin.
