Won’t purchase from them again (Thorough explanation)

Created an account just to leave a review for them. Purchased electricity twice with prepaid24 in case banking electricity purchasing is down.

1st transaction - Unsuccessful, but the payment was done with the automated EFT. The money went out. Didn’t get a token, had to purchase through FNB. Only received the token the following day. Transaction amount: R500.

2nd transaction - After being called for 1st transaction, I decided to give them a second chance. FNB and Nedbank couldn’t process electricity purchase. Decided to buy on prepaid24, extremely bad decision. Used automated EFT, money went out. After 5mins received SMS to contact customer services. They escalated to their vendor. Still no updates. I decided to contact them again after a few hours. Got a call from them, they said vendor can only reply tomorrow, we only have 10 units left at this point. Their excuse is that I paid them (automated EFT), so it’s not really their problem they can’t provide their service due to the vendor. As I said they took my money and aren’t providing me the token after the 15mins they said it usually takes.

So I requested a refund with instant payment. Got the excuse that I can only get a refund tomorrow. Then why do they provide 24/7 customer service. They have my money, which I need for power, which I need because I’m about to run out of power, as it took so long for no updates. Transaction amount: R1500.

Conclusion - I will not use prepaid24 again, I wouldn’t advise you do either. You pay a premium/transaction fees. They receive your money and then you are at their mercy, if you don’t have enough money to purchase more electricity and they can’t give you a token. You are stuck till they sort it out.

Good morning Lawrence.

Kindly note that we have received your review.

Upon further investigation we can confirm that as soon as we received your transaction and we could not process it successfully we escalated your transaction to our main vendor, unfortunately our main vendors only work until 4pm during the day (we do not have any control over their working hours)

The minute we received the error that your municipality disconnected the meter we escalated it to find out why because the token for R500 processed prior.

However you came into a live-support (chat) and requested a refund into your bank account, but banking details were confirmed 9:00 at night, and no refunds are processed during this time as our accounts department only works during the day, however the next morning, we initiated a emergency refund and the funds were paid back into your account.

Our humble apologies if you feel as if we did not do enough however we tried using every tool at our disposal to try assist you in the best way we can...

 Have a wonderful day further!

Yours Sincerely, The Prepaid24 Team
