Premji's Jewelers Gateway (Worst Jewelers in KZN)

I really hope that this reaches you so that no one has to go through what I went through!

In mid 2023 my now fiance and I enquired with (Premji's Jewelers Gateway) to have my engagement ring made by them as we wanted to avoid any franchise Jewelers.

On the 4th of July 2024 my fiance made the first deposit. On the 5th of November he made the final payment. Total was 15k

My fiance proposed on the 9th of November. One and a half weeks later we noticed the stone in the ring was rattling so we immediately took it back to (Premji's Jewelers Gateway) to have it looked at, they said they will have to send it back to the workshop that is Johannesburg. We waited 3 weeks for the ring to only come back and start to rattle a few days later. Once we had a chance to return the ring for a second time it took 1 and a half weeks to return. My fiance fetched it from the store in Gateway only to be told that there is nothing that can do and should we bring it back a third time and work is done on the ring we will be charged.

I have since gone to Tommy D Fine Jewelers to get a second option.

They have informed me that the ring was not hand made but casted which (Premji's Jewelers Gateway) NEVER disclosed with myself or my fiance.

I then forwarded my very detailed email to Tommy D Jewelers (which you will find attached) for then to further assess my ring. They have now told me that the ring is nothing like what I asked for. The band I asked for was 2mm and they gave me 0.5mm and charged me for 2mm. The gold basket holding the stone is also far to thin to be secure enough. They also informed me that the ring was over valued at 35k and I as over charged at 15k.

At the end of the day this item that should have brought me such joy and good memories for my engagement day just brings me anger and misery.

My fiance will NEVER recommend (Premji's Jewelers Gateway) to anyone as they have ripped me off completely.

I hope my story will prevent anyone from experiencing what we have.
