Shocking behavior by Prasa Staff! They have their own price besides the price Prasa has published!
My experience with Prasa this morning was absolutely appalling. I took a train to Mandalay, only to find the ticket kiosk closed. Upon arrival in Cape Town, I encountered a woman named Nolitha Vene at the Kiosk to help me purchase tickets for myself and my two school-aged children. From the outset, her demeanor was hostile, yelling at me in front of my children about their ages. Despite being in school uniforms, she insisted on charging adult fares. When I questioned this, she erupted into a tirade, it got quickly out of hand when her manager intervened to explain that she was wrong.
Even then, Nolitha continued to argue, insisting that schooler fares only apply after 09:30, creating an embarrassing and hostile environment. I felt powerless and humiliated in front of my kids, who witnessed this display of unprofessionalism and aggression. It's outrageous that Prasa has such confusing and arbitrary rules regarding fares for schoolchildren, subjecting customers to unnecessary stress and embarrassment. This experience was beyond disappointing—it was traumatizing. I will never subject myself or my family to such mistreatment again. Prasa needs to seriously reconsider how they train and manage their staff to prevent others from enduring similar humiliation.
