Misuse of authority

I ran after the train in Obz station and told myself that I will buy a weekly ticket in Salt River station (where I connect). I went to the office to buy my ticket but the ticket guards would not let me through to go buy the ticket or to even sell me one. They asked me to pay R40 because I did not buy a ticket at Obz station. I told them that I only have money for the weekly which I need to get to work, so I offered to pay the ticket from Obz to Salt River and still buy my weekly ticket, they refused and kept me - saying that I must wait for the police.

I asked when the police will get there and if they were even called already, a lady guard told me that it is the supervisor who calls them and that s(he) calls them only once a day, therefore they will come by whenever. I sat there for 2 hours, though after an hour they asked me to pay R20 so they could pay the fine...I still didn't have it.

I do not refuse to abide by the laws, but I suggest that Prasa/ Metrorail inform the passengers about all of their laws, otherwise you cannot expect to arrest people for something they didn't know about, just because you did not do your part... not to even mention the staff's BAD attitude.
