Jacob James van der Venter is a ****** whose business it is to subcontract out to actual contracters to do the work he claims to be able to do. He delayed the building of our house by 2 years because after demanding the deposit he became "busy" with other things that lead to poor quality bits and pieces being installed once every few months to keep us hanging on. Eventually he said he'd run out of funds and needed the full amount without having even completed a quarter of the work we asked him to do. Furthermore he made his own decisions in some instances regarding designs for items that we wanted installed which were cheap and nasty. After ending our agreement with him we demanded to have the difference in fees back that he had not delivered on. And so he disappeared. Turns out he has several other companies under his name that can be found when searching google for staircase or balustrade manufacturers. The Mighty Tigris is one of these. Avoid any company where his name appears!
