PR AUTO SOLUTIONS NIGHTMARE

I visisted this business as I saw that they render Auto Electrical Services. They have a nice facility and everything seemed to be in place.

I took an E70 to them to run diagnostic as the lights are no longer bright at night and I struggle to see when I am driving. I was told that there would be a fee for diagnostics which i agreed to.

The owner/ manager did the diagnostics. After around 45 min, I saw my vehicle being pulled under one of the bays and 2 guys started loosening the bolts on the right fender side. This move seemed to have also surprised their Receptionist as she asked me if removing the fender was part of the diagnostics. I told her that I don't know as no one told me anything.

I then approached the owner who told me that they are actually removing the lights so that they can open them and fix the led inside the lights. This was quite strange as I was expecting that after the diagnostics, they will give feedback and then we will both agree on the way forward. I asked how much will the process cost and a quote was generated while the 2 guys where continuing to loosen the fender. They struggled for almost 5 hours to remove the right fender (to get to the light, they said the fender and front bumper had to come out). At one point the owner even noticed what he said was a turbo spring, sitting on top bumper bar in front. He asked why it was there and the guys could not explain what happened.

After another 2 hours, they managed to get the other light out. They took the lights and try open them using ***** drivers and drills for another +-2 hours. Then I saw the guys bringing the lights back to the car putting them back on. Just as they did when they took them off, they never said anything to me. I enquired from one of the guys if they managed to sort out the issue and he said they failed to open the lights. At this point it was around 21h30.

The guys struggled to put the things back, which led to the fenders being misaligned, cracked and the PDC massage coming on. They found that one of the sensors was now sitting slightly inside the pumper. One guy tried to force it out using a ***** driver damaging it further in the process .

At the end, there was about 14 bolts that remained outside after they assembled the items back. This means that there were a number of parts inside with no bolts.

I cannot say that I have not seen that level of poor workmanship before, but this was the first time I was seeing something like that happening at an RMI approved facility where people seem to have absolutely no clue. I literally had to assist them to put most of the things back.

What really shocked me at the end was that the owner, who admitted that he failed to sort out my car, was "suggesting" that I should pay for the hours worked. I felt so embarrassed on his behalf that after such an embarrassingfailure he wanted to be paid. I showed him all the fender misalignment, 14 bolts that were still outside and the pdc error, including the damage done on the PDC sensor. He seemed unbothered, only saying that the problem was that I didn't come in the morning.
