Professional Provident Society (PPS)
I have had a very unfortunate experience with PPS. The lack of transparency, accountability and poor communication is astonishing for supposedly a professional company. I have been with PPS for many years and requested recently a Section 14 transfer from PPS Investments Retirement Annuities to another Investment company. Best decision I could have taken, based on the poor service I received. from PPS. I received information on 21 Feb/24 that PPS was still busy with the initial step of the process and that the process could take up to 180 business days - 6 months??? As a customer, I was not even informed of this by PPS directly. I called and spoke to PPS and requested feedback on the reason for the delay in the transfer of the funds. I was informed that PPS's exemption certificate had expired and that was the reason why the transfer would take so long. I requested the Administrator and another staff member to call me and to get feedback on the reason why the exemption certificate had expired and why this application was only reapp**** for after it had expired? Again, shocking for a professional company. To date I have still not had the courtesy of a callback from the persons I requested to call me to explain the above and to advise me when the transfer would take place. After yet another call to PPS this week, they advised that the exemption certificate had now been approved, but yet again neither I nor the investment company I was transferring the money to, had been informed. I advise other clients to be very wary of PPS due to the above unfortunate issues.
