PPS - Professionals Beware - This Company will drop you at your most vulnerable time of need

I am a 56 Year Old graduate Professional Engineer. I have been a premium member of PPS since 1990. I have had no prior claims and placed my first sickness claim being in 2020, some 30 years later., an experience that been most painful.

I confirm that what I am writing is my PERSONAL experience (and not hearsay nor exaggeration) with PPS. I state this because even as I write, I understand that someone else reading this may find this experience to be unbelievable or exaggeration. I assure you that his is not the case. Upon discussing my experience with other professional colleagues who are currently members of PPS and some who have moved their business away from PPS, I found that my experience is not unique and that PPS's performance has deteriorated to this low level. I was pointed to this site by a colleague who claimed that PPS had a bizarre performance score of 3.x . I am happy to confirm my experience should you wish to call me at ***9 or ***.

1. BREACH by PPS of Clients Personal and Medical Information : The personal medical information of a third party PPS member was sent to me, apparently in error (twice) despite me advising that it was not my medical information. Despite my office advising PPS of this breach, there seemed to be no urgency nor understanding of the seriousness of this transgression by PPS. I have to date never received an explanation nor assurance that this data breach was in fact reported to the person whose data was leaked. It seems the matter was swept under the carpet.

2. STONEWALLING by claims assessor.: My Claim Assessor Tebogo Matlala sits with information on average > 25 days and ONLY responds on the second or third email reminder. Requesting the SAME information over and over, which is already in her possession, not ever progressing the claim. It is my opinion that this is a deliberate tactic by PPS.

3. INCOMPETENCE of Claims Assessors : My Claims Manager Tebogo Matlala claimed that she was a bio kineticist and questions the skill and decisions of my Specialist Surgeon, Dr Osman, despite him being one of the country's leading shoulder experts. These medical questions being posed to me the patient instead of the surgeon directly. Also offering medical advice advising what the surgeon should have done in terms of after care.

4. DELAY TACTICS : Requesting UNRELATED information incrementally : Constant typical insurance company delay tactics : I am being continuously asked incrementally for info totally unrelated to the claim

5. CALL CENTRE NON - EXISTENCE : I have yet to be able to get through anyone from the call centre to answer a call. After repeatedly not being able to get a hold of Tebogo, I tried about 15 calls through the Call Centre. To date Ive only been able to get the phone answered on 1 occasion. The Call agent had no clue how to assist me and kept getting put through all the wrong people an after a lengthy musical chairs experience I got fed up and put down the telephone.

6. MUSICAL CHAIRS with Claim Assessors : Ive had at least 3 or 4 assessors handling my matter each not knowing what's the update on the matter. Hendrietta Malgas, Beverly Machete, Kabul Mpheti the worst being Tebogo Matlala

7. FALSE CLAIMS BY PPS OF PAYMENT BEING MADE : On the 31 May 2021, I was informed that my claims were paid on the 5 May 2021. This is False. No payment has been made to date. It was only on the 7 June 2021, that the PPS independent broker revealed the the payment was made to another 3rd party with a similar name, and not to me. I still await the payments

I have yet to receive any feedback from PPS, either my claims advisor nor any senior. I now am at the stage that the matter would need to be elevated, however there's a steel screen. Cant even get through the call centre ?

PPS Members. Check that your information has not been breached and seek assurance that you will be paid out in the event of a claim. cos like me you going to experience the same at your. most vulnerable moment. My suggestions for you to seek to mitigate this similar risk and by moving your business to other companies that will be more appreciative of your business.
