Downhill since Brolink started administering claims
Since Brolink took over administration of claims, service at pps has been very poor. I recently had a burst geyser with resultant damage. The plumber came out on a Sunday and reported the damage and the confirmed the geyser had burst. On Monday, another plumber was sent out to replace the geyser. A contractor was sent out to re-evaluate the resultant damage. This was followed by an assessor who did not appear to have received either of the contractors reports. A 3rd contractor was called to re-evaluate the work with the assessor stating that the value was took high. After a few days, a loss asjusment letter was sent to me stating that I was under insured by some R2million and that my claim payout would be reduced by more than 20%. I challenged this as I needed to understand how the same assessor did not communicate the R2million shortfall just over a year earlier. PPS then honoured the full claim. PPS appeared to back the assessors evaluation method of the premises. I asked to see the evaluation report and highlighted the incorrect size of an outbuilding. The assessor, who clearly performed a desktop exercise, overstated the value of an empty wendy house. When questioned he justified his response by quoting the value of a log cabin in South Africa. I received a new schedule via email highlighting endor*****ts to my policy followed by a customer survey asking me to rate the level of service provided by the person who emailed me the policy. I highlighted that nobody contact me and the customer experience through the claim. I was then contacted and highlighted my concern about the evaluation. A new assessor was appointed who performed another assessment. The assessor found that the property was adeqautely valued and not undervalued as stated by the previous assessor. No apology or follow up call was received. Today I received a new schedule indicating a new additional excess to my policy. Sadly, this marks the beginning of the end of my 23 year journey with PPS. PPS used to be brilliant. Everything were South when Brolink started doing their claims. If this is how PPS handles my claims when I am the one lodging the claim, what can my family expect should something happen to me?
