I have been sold a used airtime voucher

I have been a registered user on Powertime Mobile since 2012 around February. I have had a good experience on their mobile site until recently. I have been buying electricity tokens but have over the past few months been buying airtime vouchers as well.

Last month, 18th February 2017 11:26 AM to be precise, I bought a R55 airtime voucher but on trying to redeem it I got a message that it has already been used and that I should go back to the dealer.

I sent a message to their support team. I got a message acknowledging the receipt of my request and a receipt number (96841) The following day I got a phone call from them alerting me that my request was being attended to and that an email has been sent to me requesting more details in order to investigate further. I rep**** to the email with the requested details. I got another message thanking me for the details and that my request has been forwarded to the service provider. This message was send to me on the following day 19th January 2017 10:23 AM. Since then I have had no feedback from them even after countless messages I have sent requesting for further feedback and assistance.

It has been three weeks since I heard anything from them. I have been patient but my patience has been treated with disdain in addition to being inconvenienced.

I feel disrespected and I hope Powertime does not treat all their customers with the kind of disdain that they have meted out to me. Maybe they feel that the amount in question is insignificant but at the end of the day it is my money. If that is the case, they should have sorted me out in no time or better yet they must give their airtime vouchers for free.

I feel disrespected as a customer and that I have been taken for granted. When I buy a service or a product, I expect delivery. Is that too much to ask for.

Disgruntled customer

Itumeleng Petlele
