Powerbite sold me a blacklisted phone

I bought a Samsung Note 10+ from Powerbite / Cellstore in Loftus on 25 October 2019. The phone cannot make calls or receive sms anymore. I took it to Vodaworld and Samsung at The Grove and they informed me the phone is blacklisted. I went to Vodacom because the device shows a Vodacom splash screen when you restart it. I always found that funny since I bought it as a brand new phone and I was not using a Vodacom simcard. I have been to the police station to get an affidavit to explain that I've never lost the phone so I don't know why it would be blacklisted. What should I do now? I paid R15000 for a phone that just stopped working out of the blue.

We would like to bring to the attention of any future buyers - Powerbite allows buyers to trade in unwanted phones.  These phones are sometimes unwanted contract upgrades. Failure to pay these contracts may result in it getting blacklisted. Powerbite will replace your phone at any point and time.

Thanks to platforms like these my faulty cellphone was replaced with a brand spanking new handset by Cell Store. Thanks to the staff at PTA branch for handling my issue favourably.
