Bought Macbook with faulty battery online, company refuses to fix it, and tells lies.
Do not use Powerbite, you will lose money. I bought my macbook pro online from them for R 25 000 in september 2020 with a 1y warranty, for work. I received it with a faulty battery, blown speakers, and a broken charger that was falling apart. I let them know about the problem immediately, but also that I had to continue working on the machine. They said it's no problem, it's got a year warranty so I can send it in any time in the following year when my work is more quiet. So I eventually sent the machine in in January. They had it for two weeks and claimed to have fixed it. I got it back, but with a HUGE dent on the cover. The speakers had been fixed, and I thought the battery was fixed, but the battery failed completely within a week and I was no longer able to work on the device at all. I emailed them about what happened. The CEO rep**** and said that the employee who dealt with me had been fired because she **** to me when she said the device was fixed, and what apparently really happened is that they received the device damaged (referring to the dent, that was not there before they collected it), and this voids the warranty, so they just sent it back to me and never fixed it. Their stories contradict each other and don't add up. This machine was my livelihood as a freelance graphic designer. I've lost so much business and money because of this. Thanks Powerbite.
Our tech has also confirmed that he subsequently fixed this device that should never have been fixed under warranty due to this big dent on it.
You however did not alarm us to the dent which would cause panic to any customer if they sent a perfectly looking Macbook in for repairs and it came back with a dent. , until you experienced problems with your battery again.
It now has to be determined by the courier whether this device was damaged in their possession as we can confirm it was received by us with the dent.
