Refusal to refund partially on uncomplete trip

I booked a ride with this company from Cape Town to riversdale , I had to get off in Somerset due to a serious family issue. I requested a partial refund from them as I didn't complete the trip , they tell me they dont do refunds only a re issue of the ticket valid for 4 months. Which I won't ever use I paid R460 when I phoned they basically told me to get lost they won't refund me anything I dont think my request is unreasonable if they paid me 300 back I would be happy but they will just keep all my money how are they aloud to treat customers in such a disgusting manner. I told the company I will file a complaint with the Consumer act agency and then follow up in small claims court they told me thier lawyer will file a claim against me for defaming them.
