R350 Sassa and ******* post office staff
I was in a queue 06H30 in the morning outside Daveyton Mall for the R350 payable at the post office.Around 07H45 or 08H00 the post office staff came to collect our Id's and a lot of us were told go to the Department of home affairs to fix our Id's, mind you this happened last month during the level 4 restrictions.Maybe you'd wonder why I still get my relief grant though it's closed,Im in the bunch of people who have outstanding balances. So that money is not paid to you every month, you just wait for whatever time. So this Ella Ratale returns my ID saying it's not right, mind you I was there to receive my second payment, the first payment was in Benoni and there were no problems. I left and few kilometers away there's another post office at Majutene. They helped me with no conflict of interest. So I would like to see an intervention of what's happening in those two post offices in Daveyton. It was published in the news that there are people taking advantage of the people who earn R350 giving them a spot in the queue that's like skipping the queue then pay those people R50. It was put to a stop but I see it in Daveyton happening. Its even worse cos it's done by the staff members of the post office. We queue there as early as six some earlier than that. But all of us who are not willing to pay are gonna be served around 12 and still if someone willing to pay comes by that time or even later that person gets the first preference. Hear me say I have experienced it and saw it with my own eye staff members participating in this. What happens is this, there's guys staying there by the hostel, those are just the middle man going out there canvassing anyone who comes to join the queue and promising to take them in front just for R50. When they arrive there, the employer from the post office assist as quick as possible. You dont even go in,the guy will take your ID to them and come back with your money and that register we sign after the payment so the receiver could sign.So I'm wondering what's in for them the post office staff. In Daveyton Mall they probably sent us back because we were doing straight no ***** business, so they thought if they can send us back it's gonna be no job for them because they want extra cash from the poor on top of the salaries. Very very disappointed.. And they are not helpful. They not giving customers any information about this grant.. It's like they have no product knowledge. For instance most people go to collect and find that Sassa hasn't paid the money yet. They'll just tell you its not there instead of advising why it's not there and what to do before you come to the post office and stand there the whole morning and only to be helped after 14H00 to find out that the money is not there. Information such as the Moya app where you can track your grant and what to look for..? The approve then the date in which its filed meaning the money has arrived in the post office and then come at that scheduled date by the post office as according to the 3 digits of yr ID.
