Department of correctional services lack of payout of pension fund - Distraught family

Poor is all I can say.

My step dad had been waiting for his pension payout for 7 months now. My mom and him have no other invome and us as kids do not have money to support them as we are supporting our own families.

My step dad has landed in hospital twice with a anxiety attack. This is affecting our family in a way most won’t comprehend.

They have no food nor money to pay their accounts. As things stands now they are going to loose their car. All their policies have been cancelled namely medical aid, funeral annuities etc...

I do not understand how after 41 and a half years this is the treatment one gets. I have watched my hero a happy go lucky dad go to a stressed out sad man.

Paperwork has been sent back now for the 4th time from government employers pension fund (GEPF) to headquarters of correctional services due to mistakes made by them and my mom and step dad have to bear the brunt of their mistakes.

They have made the same mistake twice on the same form and still don’t even offer support to my mom and step dad to help them survive financially after they submitted the paperwork a year ago.

I have no more word left.... This situation is a utter disgrace and a father that gave more than half his life to a company how was always able to provided for his family had nothing left...
