Re-charging for bad work

Good day,

We renovated our pool about 6 years ago using Pool Renovators. In the beginning of this year we noticed that the top part of the pool lining is busy peeling off. I got several pool repair contractors to come and have a look and they all agreed that the top lining of the pool was installed incorrectly initially and it was causing the problem. I then contacted Pool Renovators to come do an assessment on the original installation but only receive a quote for R20k-R30K to fix the problem. I did explain to them that this is due to their own installation but nobody bothered to get back to me with any feedback.

I'm now in a situation where I'm forced to pay the money and get the work done otherwise the damages will become more and I will end up re-doing the whole pool. Is it common practice to do bad installations to secure future business?

Regards,
